மழை விட்டும் தூவானம் விடவில்லை

  மழை விட்டும் தூவானம் ... ...       மழை விட்டும் தூவானம் {தூறல்} விடவில்லை என்பது பழமொழி. (இதை  வைத்து வருகின்ற தமிழ்த் திரைப்படப் பாடல்கள்  - 'தூவானம் இது தூவானம் இது தூவானம்.. ...' - 'மழை நின்ற பின்பும் தூறல் போல உனை மறந்த பின்பும் காதல் .. ..... ' )        அதுபோல் , ' மலைராணியின் மடியில் ' தொடர் முடித்து epilogue எழுதிய பின்னரும் இன்னும் கொஞ்சம் எழுதத் தோன்றுகிறது.     12th standard  படித்த போது evening school  விட்ட பின்னர் தோழி ராதாவுடன் பேசியவாறே,  ( அதிலும் குறிப்பாக discuss பண்ணுவது' குமுதம்' வார இதழாகத்தான் இருக்கும் ) வீடு திரும்பி வருவது ஒரு pleasant memory.  School-இலிருந்து மேல் வழி, கீழ் வழி என்று இரண்டு வழிகள். இரண்டுமே பூட்டுகளை உடைய gate- களைக் கொண்டவை.  இரண்டு வழிகளும் சற்றே இடைவெளி விட்டு விட்டு concrete படிக்கட்டுகளால் அமைந்தவைதான். அந்த இடைவெளிகள் குறுக்காக அமைந்த தெருக்களும், mount ரோடும்தான். Mount road குன்னூர் bus stand பக்கத்திலிருந்து ஆரம்பித்து Sim's park வரை செல்லும். ...

2 C, Roja Nagar....... (22 years at 2C) - Part 3

                                                       Roja nagar association மூலமாக new year celebration நடத்தப்பட்டது. .அதையொட்டி விளையாட்டுப் போட்டிகள் நடத்தப் பட்டன. வீட்டின் எதிராக இருந்த park site- ல் இல்லாமல் சற்றுத் தள்ளி இருக்கும் மற்றொரு park site - ல் ஓட்டப் பந்தயம், சாக்கு ரேஸ் உட்பட . என் குழந்தைகளும் விளையாட்டுப் போட்டிகளில் கலந்து கொண்டார்கள். Dec 31st  இரவு 12 மணிக்கு, சாந்தி வேலுமணி அவர்கள் வீட்டில் கேக் வெட்டப் பட்டது.     மற்றொரு முறை கோலப் போட்டிக்கு judge  ஆக இருக்க வைத்தார்கள். கோலப் போட்டிக்கு நான் judge ஆ? இந்த இடத்தில் ஒரு பழமொழி நினைவுக்கு வரும்.அது அம்மாவாசைக்கும் அப்துல் காதருக்கும் என்ன சம்பந்தம்? என்ற கேள்வி .இது நிறையப் பேர் அறிந்ததே. ஆனால் இது தவறான கருத்து. ஏனெனில், இஸ்லாமியர்களின் வருட calendar lunar calendar தான். அதாவது சந்திர நாட்காட்டி. நிலவு உதிப்பதை வைத்துத்தான் புதிய மாதம் கணக்கிடப்படும். ...

நாலு கண்ணு ஆடு

                                         கணவர், குழந்தைகளுடன் , தமிழில் dub செய்யப்பட்ட (Jumanji 2) Zathura என்ற space adventure சினிமா பார்த்தேன்.அதில் two boys - brothers and a girl- (elder sister) would get caught in the space along with their house, that is while being inside the house. How it would have had happened is, the boys would find a magic board game and start playing. The first move itself would take the house to space and there had been a meteor shower .Each move has a danger like this, except one or two moves. The fearful fact of this imaginary game is, you have to play and win and the house will become normal in the same place in earth again. But, losing will pull you into Zathura which is a black hole !                     இதில் கடைசியில் ஜெயித்து வீடு பழையபடி ஆகி விடும். அதாவது பூமிக்குத் திரும்பி வந்து பழையபடி...

 Once upon a time in Pollachi.    There was a private English tutor during our school days named ' Kulla gowder' who used to tell many attractive phrases ,one among those being, ' long long ago, so long ago... ...'.  The childhood days that were spent at Pollachi now feel as ' long long ago, so long ago... '. The period was in 1970s and 80s. About 40 years backwards from today. It is no wonder it feels as, ' long long ago, so long ago '.                                                               When writing about Pollachi, it has to include Ambarampalayam, because my father's house was at Pollachi and mother's house was at Ambarampalayam and more days are spent at mother's house during school vacations, festivals, functions etc.  Anyhow let us see Pollachi first. செடி கொடி மரம் ... - 3 (Gardening history continuation)

                 ஈரோட்டின் gardening history தொடரும் என்று செடி கொடி மரம் வளர்த்த கதை Part- 1 ல் குறிப்பிட்டிருந்தது இங்கே தொடர்கிறது.        Initially we had many pots with plants and two mud ( soil ) spaces in the portico for keeping plants.  A narrow rectangular area on the right side close to the compound wall and a narrow L shaped area on the left.  ஆரம்ப கால தொட்டிச் செடிகள் அனைத்துமே விதவிதமான crotons தான். செடிகளுக்காக விடப்பட்ட மண் space களில் ரோஜாக்கள், கொடி மல்லி, jeranium, adenium ( இந்தச் செடி பற்றி கீழே கூறுகிறேன்), croton type plant,சிவப்புப் பூக்கள் பூக்கும் உன்னிச் செடி, ஒரு கொய்யா மரம் உள்பட பல தாவரங்கள் இருந்தன. மேற்கூறப்பட்ட அனைத்தும் ஒரே கால கட்டத்தில் வளர்க்கப் பட்டவை அல்ல. பின்பு அரசாங்க வலியுருத்தலின்படி தரை கீழ்த்தள மழைநீர்த் தொட்டி  கட்டப்பட்ட போது L shaped soil area- வின் ஒரு பாதி மூடப் பட்டு , தளம் இடப்பட்டது.  Husband- ன்  friend பாலு என்பவரின் மனைவியிடமிருந்து  st...

பள்ளிப் பருவ நண்பர்கள்

                            மனிதர்கள் , இந்தியர்கள், டாக்டர்கள், எஞ்சினியர்கள் இன்ன பிற இந்த வகைக் குறிப்பிடுதல்கள் எவ்வாறு gender specific இல்லையோ அது போல்தான் நண்பர்கள் என்பதும் gender specific இல்லை. என்னுடைய பதின்ம வயது பள்ளித் தோழி ' ஒரு புள்ளியில் '  புத்தகத்தைப் படித்து விட்டு தன்னைப் பற்றி எழுதவில்லை என்று குறைபட்ட போது,  ' மூன்றாவது புத்தகத்தில் உங்களைப் பற்றியெல்லாம் வரும்' என்று கூறினேன். ஆதலால் இந்த post- ல்,  விடுபட்ட என்னுடைய நண்பர்களுடன் என் வழிப்பயணத்தை ( journey )  விளம்புகிறேன்.          முதல் முதலில் நான் தோழியாக உணர்ந்தது சபியா  என்னும் பெயர் கொண்ட   அக்காதான்.  அப்போது எனக்கு ஆறேழு வயது. அக்கா என்றால் ஏறக்குறைய பத்து வயது பெரிய பெண்.  அந்த அக்காவிற்கு ஒரு லவ்வர் வேறு இருந்தான். ஒருதரம் அந்தப் பையனை சபியா எனக்கு அறிமுகப் படுத்திய போது, நான் வெட்கப்பட்டு அந்தப் பெண்ணின் அருகில் பதுங்கி நின்றேன். மற்றும் ஜகதா என்னும் சின்னப் பெண், ...
